Silas Beatty 1885-1977 and Verna DeGraffe Beatty, abt.
1891-1914. Silas's mother was Sarah Amelier Roosa daughter of Wm
Teas Roosa and Effie Wagner and he was grandson of Issac and Catherine DeLamater Roosa.
Verna's great grandmother was Jane Roosa m. Jacob Krom and Jacob's grandparents were Simon
Krom and Annetje Roosa. They were second cousins. Silas was a WWI Veteran.

William Henry Harrison Roosa 1832-1901, Great Grandfather of Roberta Roosa Alexander.
He was a Capt. of a canal boat on the Delaware and Hudson Can that ran between
Kings Honesdale, Pa. Father: Isaac Abraham Roosa (12 Apr 1791-22
Feb 1865) Mother: Mary Evens\Evans (20 Dec 1796-26 may 1852)
Abraham Delamater Roosa & Mary Krom He is the son of Abraham Roosa & Polly (Maria)
Mills. He was b. 27 Jan 1799 d 25 Sep 1869. Mary b 20 Dec 1810 d. 4 may
1873, daughter of Simon Krom & Annatje Roosa. They moved from their birthplace of Ulster
Co., NY to Portage Co, Shaylersville, OH in 1842. They m. 1827 NY. Pic compliments

b. 13 Aug 1837 Ulster Co., NY d. 6 Aug 1906 m 25 Dec 1878 to Sarah
Ellen Lingo, Sharon, Pa., son of Abraham D Roosa & Mary Krom. Joel was a farmer
all his life and had 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. Great Grandfather of Wayne T Roosa
William Burtis Roosa
(standing) b 10 May 1872 d. 24 June 1957 m Grace Davis. Son of
Wm. Henry Harrison Roosa & Sarah Marie Coddington. In his youth, he worked as a
boatman in the Delaware, Hudson and Erie Canals and for Wells Fargo. He was a skilled
carpenter and made at least one model of a canal boat which he donated to a museum in
the Orange, Sullivan, Ulster Co. area. He was b. Ulster Co., NY. This pic is compliments
of his grand daughter Roberta Roosa Alexander.
Clinton Samuel Roosa
b. 4 Sept 1900 d. 19 Aug 1973 son of Wm B Roosa & Grace Davis Roosa descendant of Aldert Heymans Roosa
by son Arie Roosa. He served in WWII in France, where he recieved the Purple Heart aand WWII
in the Seabees, the So. Pacific. This pic is compliments of his niece, Roberta Roosa Alexander.
Herbert Joel Roosa
b. 6 Apr 1884 d. 13 Jul 1958 m 25 June 1910, Joanne. He was a
farmer all his life and grandfather to Wayne T Roosa.
August Herbert Roosa
b. 15 Apr 1918 d. July 1997 m. Charlotte on 2 Sept 1939.
He was a foundry man by trade and received two bronze stars, while in Army WWII.
They are the parents of Wayne T Roosa
Engel van Zee 1775-1868. His grandmother was
Maria Jans Geurts. Alderts Gijsbertsz Roosa 1693-1747. Pic compliments
of his niece, Val Van Zee.
George and Josephine LeFevreGeorge 1859-1939
Josephine Knapp 1858-1948 LeFevre ( who was descendant of Jannetje dau. of Albert Roosa and Almira
Barnhart who was descendant of Heyman Roosa, son of Aldert) They m 1882 &
settled in New Hurley, Ulster Co., NY where he was a farmer & later ran a grocery,
coal and fuel business until 1909. He was described as a quiet man, firm republican
and an ardent prohitbitionist, as was his wife. They are Great Great Grandparents
of Jim Miller.

We really don't know when the photo was taken. Daniel was my grandfather.
